CANARO KIT includes a TANGOSPINNER ASTOR model high-performance subplatter that has been specifically designed for Rega turntables.
The precision assembly of this subplatter integrates ideal components into a single subplatter design which is not available anywhere else and polished aircraft-grade aluminum hub (6061-T6 grade aluminum) with low carbon stainless steel extended spindle (316L) in addition to dual silicone belts in order to grip the platter and isolate it from vibrations.).
The use of this single precision assembly subplatter will enhance the already excellent performance of your turntable in several areas:
SPEED ACCURACY AND STABILITY
Has tighter tolerances than the Rega injection-molded plastic hub (the bottom part of the two-piece original subplatter). Having a low tolerance subplatter circumference enables both a better speed accuracy and stability.
PLATTER PROTECTION The dual silicone decoupling ring system grips and protects the platter against scratches or wear.
LOWER NOISE FLOOR: The silicone rings isolate the platter from unwanted bearing vibration, lowering the noise floor.
Stainless steel shaft and matching precision ball bearing lower the noise floor and will not wear after 8,000 hours of use (a lifetime!).
RECORD CLAMP: The extended low carbon high tensile steel shaft enables a wide range of record clamps and stabilizers to be used, further enhancing the sound quality to ensure a low coefficient of friction.
The subplatter surface is finished with a "mirror-polishing" technique, except for the subplatter lower axle because of stretch tolerances. Regarding subplatter axle, only its top is polished to have the smoothest spinning.
