50 / 60 Hz Power Systems Incompatibilites.
2017-03-03
When changing pulley to your newly purchased Rega turntable becomes a must.

Due to the growing possibilities of international online purchases, it´s usual for us to receive inquiries regarding new turntables that spin at speeds much higher or lower than the expected speeds of 33.3 and 45 rpm. That happens whenever we buy a Rega turntable in countries whose power system operates at different frequency than the country where we will finally install our unit.
For example, while in the USA, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Canada, South Korea, etc., we have 60 Hz systems, in most countries of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Argentina, etc., these systems work at 50 Hz. So if we buy a Rega turntable in the USA and we want it to work in Argentina it will spin very slowly and if we buy a unit in the UK and we want it to operate in Brail, the speed will be much higher.
It seems a very serious problem, and indeed it seems so when we begin to theorize about how to change the frequency of our country's power system :-), but don´t worry, the solution is very, very simple: The change of the original pulley for another one that needs to be 100% compatible with local frequency.
At TangoSpinner we bring full support to Rega users from all over the world to overcome this issue and finally they can enjoy a pleasant listening on their newly purchased Rega turntables.

Our most recent testimony is from Claudio (Buenos Aires, Argentina) who can finally enjoy listening to his vinyl records in his brand new Planar 3 that was recently imported from the US.
Great job Claudio, congratulations !
