1994 Rega Planar 3 from Plusquellec France. "I've attached a couple of images of the deck, a 1994 Rega Planar 3. I bought it secondhand a few months back and added a Benz Micro Gold cartridge, but I could tell I wasn't getting the best from this excellent moving coil cartridge. I'm not able to use a wall shelf so purchased an SRM Silent Base to isolate it and decouple the motor from the plinth. That helped, but it still wasn't performing as I'd hoped. The guys on vinylengine.com suggested a Tangospinner sub-platter. I wasn't exactly expecting a miracle from it, but I certainly got one. Having installed the sub-platter, brass pulley and twin belts, the resulting sound was amazing. Everything just fell into place, bass was tight, imagery solid, and I could tell the cartridge was now in control.
