I have spent several hours of concentrated listening and shuffling through music albums and I must say that your REGA upgrade is highly effective. The noise from the drive mechanism is really zero. So far, with my configuration with the ND3 cartridge (soon to be replaced with the ND7), I hear very decent space in both directions, both in width and depth, very clean presentation of musical instruments and natural reverberations of the space at live concerts. The bass is much deeper, better and more detailed, more powerful with better focus in space.
Many thanks for all the communication and help with my gradual REGA Planar conversion, without which I would definitely have caused damage to the device, which is invaluable to me.
