OUR DEAR CUSTOMERS "TANGOSPINNING" ALL AROUND THE WORLD... English version: The pieces arrived yesterday and last night I achieved installation. I’m in the process of restoring a Pioneer (SA-700) amplifier. Now, the apartment seems more like a workshop than my home. Every part has a wonderful finishing as well a weight which undoubtedly reflects its quality. It was hard to extract the original pulley. I don’t know its glue properties but with a mix of heat, ketone and finally a few screwdrivers I could remove it. The triple pulley was installed pretty easily as well as the belts I own the Serge Gainsbourg LP which I had been listening the night before – so we decided to start with it. We left the Pioneer and used it as Phono – And I have to admit that the differences were incredible . I did not imagine that the changes would be so noticeable – but it was definetly a change in the dynamics and articulation of the sound. It impressed me a lot - this amplifier has a very warm sound (In my opinion very good for the music of the 70’s) and that was terrific Thanks Gustavo. Now I feel that my turntable can surpass any digital player. For example: If I don’t listen LP records, I use a TubeMagic D2 (DAC) in USB with the best FLAC(s) I own . Regarding this setup and my un-upgraded RP6 I was having an equivalent sound quality. But now, with an upgraded turntable, it surpass any digital player quality. Mission accomplished. For reference, I am using the RP6 with a 10X5 and the “wool mat” included. The next project is to complete a “phonoclone” that I’m putting together. Now I’m saving some money for that. Estoy en el proceso de restaurar un amplificador Pioneer (SA-700) que conseguí por estos lados - pues el apartamento parece mas taller que hogar. Todo tiene un acabado maravilloso tanto como un peso que sin duda es una marca de calidad. Me costo un poco extraer la polea original. No se si sera una pega superior (la RP6 es muy nueva) pero con un combo de calor, acetona, y por ultimo unos desatornilladores se lo pude quitar. La polea triple se instalo facilmente - y las fajas tambien. Tenia un disco de Serge Gainsbourg que había estado escuchando la noche anterior - decidimos empezar con el. Dejamos el pioneer y también lo usamos como phono - y le tengo que decir que las diferencias fueron incredibles. No me imagine que el cambio seria tan notable o drástico - pero realmente que fue un cambio en la dinámica y articulación del sonido. Me impresiono mucho - ese amplificador tiene un sonido muy cálido (y en mi opinion muy bueno para la música de los 70’s) y fue algo super super divino. Gracias Gustavo - ahora si que siento que en el tocadiscos tengo algo que supera los medios digitales. Para dar le un ejemplo - si no es LP, uso un TubeMagic D2 (DAC) en USB con los mejores FLAC que tengo. Con ese escenario y el RP6 (de anteayer) el sonido era equivalente - uno tan bueno (siempre distintos) como el otro. Con este cambio el tocadiscos totalmente supera la calidad de lo digital. Misión cumplida. Para referencia estoy usando la RP6 con un 10X5 - y el “wool mat” incluido. El proximo proyecto es finalizar un “phonoclone” que estoy armando.
